Graduate Studies at Texas State

Texas State University is a doctoral-granting, Hispanic-Serving Institution located in the burgeoning Austin-San Antonio corridor and provides opportunities for discovery and innovation for students and faculty! Since 2012, it has the designation of an Emerging Research University. State-of-the-art research facilities will give you access to cutting-edge technology, modern creative spaces, and extensive library resources.

The Graduate College offers education preparation for a broad spectrum of careers to more than 4,000 graduate students. The nationally and internationally recognized faculty, outstanding graduate programs, and commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship create a nurturing and engaging environment for graduate study.

San Marcos Campus

There’s something for everyone in San Marcos, a vibrant community nestled along the edges of the Texas Hill Country. Hike or bike through stunning scenery in more than 2,000 acres of parks and natural areas. Jump into the crystal-clear San Marcos River, which flows right through our campus, creating a unique environment for recreation and research. Explore dozens of locally owned boutiques, shops, and restaurants within walking distance of campus or check out live-music venues including Cheatham Street Warehouse, where Texas State alumni and country music stars George Straight and Randy Rogers got their start.

Round Rock Campus

Located just 15 miles north of Austin, the Round Rock campus offers various graduate degree programs and professional certifications. This campus is also home to the College of Health Professions. Students in these programs will complete their clinical study in our new Healthcare Neighborhood, including the St. David's School of Nursing and our state-of-the-art clinical labs at Willow Hall. Round Rock, one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation, holds the title of “Sports Capital of Texas” for amateur, youth, and recreational sports and is one of the country’s safest communities. Stroll through the downtown district and take in historic architecture, art installations, and local eateries.
