**The School of Social Work reviews completed applications on a rolling basis and usually fills all openings in a program prior to the deadline posted above. It is advantageous to the applicant to apply as soon as possible. Once the program has reached capacity for a given semester, it will no longer be available on the ApplyTexas website. Applicants will be required to submit a new application and fee for admission consideration for future semesters.
***Please note the deadlines for this program. If the program is not listed as an option on ApplyTexas for a given semester, students may no longer apply for the program for that semester. Applicants will be required to submit a new application, required support documents and fee for admission consideration for future semesters.
This program is taught exclusively online. For students residing outside of Texas and not planning on relocating to the state, please visit http://www.distancelearning.txstate.edu/ before applying.

The required non-refundable $40.00 application fee can be submitted with credit/debit card information during the application process. If preferred, applicants may submit a non-refundable $40.00 application fee (check or money order in U.S. currency) made payable to Texas State. The mailing address is listed below.
Please Note: Students who change their admission status must pay the fee associated with the new application. Degree-seeking students changing majors and/or seeking multiple degrees are required to complete a new application and pay the $40 fee.
An additional international evaluation fee of $50.00 (U.S. currency) is required if the application is considered for admission based on foreign credentials.
Note: Applicants may apply beginning in August for the following school year. Applications will be reviewed beginning September 15 for the following year. The application review process will continue on a rolling basis until the cohort is full and the waiting list is robust. Consequently, the earlier an applicant applies, the better his or her chance of being admitted.

APPLICANTS TO THE ONLINE PROGRAM: All applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university. A minimum of a 3.0 GPA on the last 60 undergraduate semester hours of letter-grade work earned at a four-year college or university before receipt of a Bachelor's (plus any previously completed graduate or professional work) is required.
Applicants need to have demonstrated successful completion (within the last 6 years) of course content in statistics and human biology.
Applicants who have not yet graduated with a bachelor’s degree should send the transcript with the most recently completed semester’s grades. The Graduate College will only calculate an applicant’s GPA after the last long (Spring or Fall) semester of coursework prior to graduation has been completed. For example: Applicants who apply for a program that will begin Fall 2016 and expect to graduate in May 2016 should send transcripts with the Fall 2015 grades. If transcripts are submitted without this information, applicants will be notified and the application will not be considered complete until the updated transcript has been received.
The Social Work program does not require the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). However, applicants may submit GRE scores to strengthen the application.
All international applicants (non-U.S. citizens) must fulfill the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) requirement as identified in the “Admission Documents” section of the graduate catalog.
