The Graduate Education Advisory Committee (GEAC) was established by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) in 2005. The role of the committee is to advise and assist the Coordinating Board in developing measures to enhance graduate education in Texas. The GEAC developed a list of 18 characteristics of doctoral programs designed to be helpful for potential Ph.D. applicants in comparing doctoral programs in Texas. The THECB has requested all Texas public universities offering Ph.D. programs to post characteristics of each doctoral program in existence for three or more years on the institution’s web site and update the data annually. We hope you find this information helpful.
