Submit Documents


Official, university-issued and sealed transcripts/mark sheets must be mailed to the address listed below. The Graduate College does not accept opened, scanned, e-mailed, or faxed copies as official, however, copies of diplomas/certificates of completion are acceptable.

Transcripts require 3 – 5 business days to be reflected in the Status Check screen.

If documents are not reflected on the status check page after a two-week period, applicants should confirm that the documents have been sent to the correct address by the issuing institution.

Documents sent via express delivery services, such as Federal Express and DHL, are routed through the university via the Central Receiving Department and documents sent via US mail are routed through Campus Mail Services. Applicants will get credit on the date the item is received (not postmarked) in The Graduate College. Applicants should allow sufficient time for delivery. 

Test Scores


Official, electronic GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL score reports must be sent directly from their respective testing centers (Educational Testing Service or the Graduate Management Admission Council) to Texas State using school code 006667.


Official IELTS scores may be mailed directly from the testing center (IDP) to The Graduate College for processing. IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) Numbers may also be submitted via e-mail to for authentication and processing by The Graduate College. For security purposes, please ensure e-mails pertaining to IELTS results only contain the TRF Number found at the bottom, right-hand corner of the score report as well as the applicant's full name and Texas State Application ID Number.


Some programs require additional documents for admission. These documents can include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Recommendations*
  • Resume/CV
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Essays
  • Portfolio

Applicants should review their intended program of study's web page to verify if additional items like the ones listed above are required. Applicants can submit these documents using the Graduate Application Document Upload Tool (GADU).

*Applicants will request recommendations from their references by entering their references' names and e-mails directly into the GADU tool. References will then receive an e-mail from Texas State's GADU system with the applicant's request and submission instructions. References should not e-mail their letters of recommendation to The Graduate College. Note: Documents submitted but not required by the program will not be reviewed.
