Steps to Apply

1. SUBMIT THE ONLINE APPLICATION (APPLYTEXAS)

Applicants must visit www.ApplyTexas.org to submit an application for their program of interest. It will take 2-3 business days for The Graduate College to receive the application. Please visit Deadlines for more information. Also, the International Application Checklist (PDF) is a printable reference guide for the remaining application requirements described in the following steps.

2. SUBMIT NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEES

The application and international evaluation fees may be paid within the ApplyTexas application. If submitting payment after completing the ApplyTexas application, applicants will be required to pay online through our secure portal TouchNet. Please visit Required Documents for more information.

3. SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS & CERTIFICATES

Official, complete transcripts/mark sheets must be sent by the accredited university that granted the applicant’s degree(s). Transcripts must be submitted in an university-sealed envelope to The Graduate College. Please visit Required Documents and Submit Documents for more information.

4. SUBMIT OFFICIAL TOEFL OR IELTS SCORES

TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for admission consideration. Applicants will need to submit a request to the testing center to have the scores sent directly to The Graduate College. When requesting TOEFL scores, the applicant will need to provide Texas State's institution code, 006667. Please visit English Proficiency for more information.

5. SUBMIT OFFICIAL GRE OR GMAT SCORES (IF REQUIRED)

Applicants should check the admission requirements of their preferred program of study via the Program Requirements link to see if these exams are required. If the program requires official GRE or GMAT scores for admission consideration, applicants will need to submit a request to the testing center to have the scores sent directly to The Graduate College using Texas State's institution code, 006667.

6. SUBMIT PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Most graduate programs require additional application documents. Applicants should review the admission requirements of their preferred program of study and submit required documents through The Graduate College’s Graduate Admissions Document Upload (GADU) tool. Please only submit documents required by the program. Any additional documents uploaded, e-mailed, or sent by post will not be accepted or considered for admission consideration. 7. CHECK APPLICATION STATUS ONLINE

Applicants may check the status of their application online after submitting the ApplyTexas application. The Status Check will reflect the dates of items received  and still needed by The Graduate College. Please see Check Status for more information.

8. REVIEW INFORMATION AFTER BEING ADMITTED

Information for those After Admission provides links to other essential offices on campus. Incoming students should direct all visa inquiries and immigration-related documents to Texas State University’s International Office. Please visit their website for more information regarding the processing of immigration documents for a student or exchange visa.
