DEADLINES


The Graduate College will continue to process applications received after the deadline for Interdisciplinary Studies in Occupational Education.  Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with no guarantees for admission.
If the deadline of the semester for which you wish to apply has passed, you may submit a paper Application for Admission (PDF) OR INTERNATIONAL Application for Admission (PDF).

ADMISSION AS A MASTER'S STUDENT:

Complete an Application for Admission to the Graduate College and return it to the Office of the Graduate College. Submit a non-refundable $40.00 application fee (check or money order in U.S. currency) made payable to Texas State.
A $50.00 (U.S. currency) international/evaluation fee is required if the application is considered for admission based on foreign credentials. Please Note: Students who change their admission status must pay the fee associated with their application status. Degree-seeking students changing majors and/or seeking multiple degrees are required to complete a new application and pay the $40 fee.


TRANSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS:
If you are a Texas State University-San Marcos degree recipient or are currently enrolled, you need to request transcripts from any colleges NOT listed on your Texas State transcript. The Graduate College will provide the Texas State transcripts.

 

If you are not a Texas State University-San Marcos degree recipient or are not currently enrolled, one official transcript from each senior level post secondary institution attended is required. These transcripts must be mailed directly from the university or college attended or submitted in a sealed university envelope with the university's registrar's signature on the back of the envelope.

REGULAR ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
You must have a 2.75 GPA on the last 60 undergraduate semester hours of letter-grade work earned before receipt of your Bachelor's (plus any previously completed graduate or professional work).
    Submit Directly to Department:
        Personal goals statement outlining future direction

If your GPA is below 2.75 on the last 60 undergraduate semester hours of letter-grade work earned before receipt of your Bachelor's (plus any previously completed graduate or professional work), you must have a personal interview and the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) with a preferred score of 900 (verbal and quantitative combined).
    Submit Directly to Department:
        Personal goals statement outlining future direction

POST-BACCALAUREATE STUDENTS
Submit an official Application for Admission:

Submit a $10 non-refundable application fee.  Please Note: Students who change their admission status must pay the fee associated with their application status.

Non-Texas State graduates must submit one official transcript from each college or university attended. These transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the Registrar's signature on the back of the envelope.  Please check with the Texas college or university you have attended to determine if they submit electronic transcripts to Texas StateTexas State transcripts will be provided.

 Should you decide to apply to a graduate degree program, up to six hours of graduate-level courses, with a grade of 'B' or better, may be petitioned for degree credit after regular degree-seeking admission has been granted.
