Pioneer in the development of student loan financing for higher education based on the Higher Education Act. Negotiated with the State of Texas, U.S. Department of Education and the IRS to change codes, thus allowing the creation of Higher Education Authorities

  James D. Rogers, 1985 MA in History
A 2002 inductee to the U.S. Army Ranger Hall of Fame; inducted into the infantry OCS Hall of Fame in 1983. Served in Korea and Vietnam, receiving the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, the Bronze star for bravery in action and the Distinguished Service Cross

With an international team, helped develop the first formal NASA exercise space flight protocol. In 1990 was honored with the Group Achievement Award for Advanced Space Suit Design. Frederick C. Elliott Endowed Chair in Health, Fitness and Nutrition at Texas Lutheran University
  Marsha Wills-Karp, 1982 MS in Biology
Made major contributions to the understanding of immunological factors surrounding asthma. Named one of the top 1,000 scientists in the world. Served on several boards. Consultant to the Department of Energy and Genetics Institute
